Food was delicious! Ordered a Reuben panini, a chicken pesto panini, and a muffaletta. Sides included sweet potato fries and potato salad. Big Tony shared his "secret" recipe for the outstanding potato salad - excellent!! Customer service was great and by the time we got our drinks, the food was on the table... during lunch... Can't beat it! Next time we're back in the area, we'll definitely make the effort to eat with Cascio's again. Wish there was one in our hometown!!

Great food and the big guy at the counter was super nice! They need a waitstaff and cashier like this back in Dallas. The jalapeño bread burger is awesome!

Been here a couple of times and I have yet to be disappointed with the food we get. It does get pretty busy during lunch and parking is a hit or miss but you definitely can't miss going to this place. The food is good, you have plenty of options, and it's always great to come into a restaurant and have such an amazing experience with the staff and their attentiveness to you. It was a bonus having to be able to chat with the owners and the staff really makes you feel like you're visiting a friends home instead of a restaurant to eat. I personally like the Rueben sandwich and sweet potato fries as well as the spaghetti and meatballs. Enjoy!

Got taken here by a coworker for lunch because he said it was amazing, and I definitely agree that this is good food! There were so many tasty looking things on the menu that I had a hard time choosing so I went with the eggplant panini that so many reviewers mentioned and the pasta salad which was what everyone at work told me to get! The pasta salad was really delicious, tart and very flavorful and I highly recommend it! I saw lots of other people in the restaurant getting it and so I'm sure it's very popular. The eggplant panini ($8.99 now) was pretty good. The grilled eggplant was delicious, but for some reason the artichokes tasted like they had been pickled and were not fresh which was kind of disappointing. I had to take them off the panini to really taste the eggplant and the basil pesto. That's what really lost a star for me. Overall I was impressed with the service, the waitress had a ton of tables and handled it with a lot of skill, our drinks never got empty and we got our food very quickly. I'd definitely love to go back and try more of the things on their menu especially one of those giant burgers!!

WOW!!!! I was in town on business and it was around lunchtime. I had no idea where to go eat but thanks to my trusty Yelp app I ended up at Cascio's. I had the meatball sub with some pasta salad. Both were the best I've ever had! I've only been here once but I would bet the rest of their food is just as good. You could tell by how crowded it was that it's clearly a popular lunch spot.

Cascio's has very good food. I have never had anything that I didn't like. There is usually a pretty big crowd at lunch and sometimes parking is a pain. You will want to be there a little early for lunch or plan on waiting.

Good luck finding parking at this shop because it's busy during lunch. There's a reason why, the food is delish! The salads and panini's are my favorite. They also have specials everyday. The service is great even when it's busy. This is one bistro that you have to put on your to do list.

Get there early for lunch, its good and everyone knows it. I've not had a bad meal here. Also great for take out. The pizzaletta thing is worth a try and was mentioned as the best pizza in the state, but other things on the menu are even better. Going to be headed back soon.

Me and my girlfriend went to eat here for dinner. Their salads where really good. Nice place overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I've been back a couple times and it's good every time. It's refreshing when the owner of a restaurant or company greets you and says goodbye when you leave and arrive. It has a good home town feel. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely amazing. Service is great, food is better. They hand grind their hamburger meat every day. Chocolate canolli is the bomb! Love their pastas and the fact that they never complain about my picky taste. Also it is always clean!

We were driving through Louisiana and found this restaurant on Yelp! The food was fantastic and Tony, who took our order, was so nice!! We had a reuben, eggplant panini, and Greek salad. There were so many things on the menu that sounded delicious...we will be back!

This fanastic little bistro is busy, busy at lunch so plan to get there early. Everything is great especially the Eggplant Panini.

I have been here a few times now and it is by far the best Italian food in Shreveport - Bossier. Their chicken pesto sandwich, margarita pizza and their desserts are my favorites so far.

Outstanding food!! The burger I order was juicy and flavorful and the fries were yummy! Even the bun was tasty! The eggplant panini was divine! Muffuletta was top notch. And customer service?? Absolutely supreme. I spoke to them twice on the phone (different person each time) and when I came in to pick up my food, spoke with someone else. Each employee was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The guy who took my order was funny, and the woman who handed it to me was a wealth of suggestions for next time. She even helped me carry my bags out to the car, even when I said she didn't have to. I love the feel of the place and I didn't want to leave :) I can't wait to go back!

Remarkable! I was not expecting such great service, nor such good food. This place is now a staple of mine when I'm in the bossier city area! 5 stars!

This is a great place to eat! The food is fresh and homemade. The Italian sausage was great and had no artificial fillers. The duck gumbo was good, too. The staff made you feel like you were part of the family and checked on every table often. Super friendly and great prices.

We went looking for Italian for supper. This place showed up under "Italian," and that may not be completely accurate. My companion had a nice pasta, while I ordered their version of a muffuletta. We also ordered an Italian Sausage sandwich to-go. We arrived around 7pm, and the place was mostly empty. This is closer to closing time than we prefer to show up. I expect they are more of a lunch location. Just a block off of Airline, they do have a nice space and a drive-thru, but we ate in. It is a very clean and modern restaurant. My muffuletta was small and on focaccia. The digital menu board did warn me of this, so I was prepared for something different. Let me say that it was superbly flavorful. The meats were fresh & the olive salad light. On the other hand, it was the size of an appetizer. The pasta was good, as was the Italian Sausage sammy. The sandwich came on sourdough, an usual combination. The absolute best part of the meal was the Raspberry Explosion desert. You must try this. I see there are a lot of people who love this place, so I am going to assume our mistake was going there for supper. It is not substantial enough for that. Their food is light, and their portions are very small. Having said that, it is a very nice and creative lunch alternative for Bossier City...as the entire city seems to be wrapped up in chain restaurants and only a little bit of local fare. Would I return? Yes, I would give it a try for lunch.

Wow!!! What a great turkey melt!!! I been here many time before and know it's very busy at lunch time. We got here well after the lunch rush. Ordered turkey melts. As stated before great!!! Love the fries here. Nice clean place. Good service. I'll be back!!!

This place has some good reviews...and that's why I gave it a try! It's extremely open! As soon as you walk in, you can see your food getting prepared. It's a lot bigger than I expected. The smell is amazing! Has a good selection to choose from and it's done very quickly. I ordered chicken spaghetti, salad, garlic bread (manager special $9) and a side of cheese and broccoli soup. Waited less than 5 minutes. Pretty good timing I say ;) got everything to go. The front counter man was rude. I tried talking to him and he walks off. Nothing friendly about this man at all! He answered the phone while I was making my order, never did he say 'excuse me please' to have me pause. He was getting aggravated with the scam loan phone calls and was saying it out loud. He was unprofessional. I would eat here again but the service he provided will keep me away for a long time. LIKES: quick food, location, price DISLIKES: RUDE cashier, no salad in the bag

This place lived up to the lofty reviews. I ordered the Cajun turkey melt. The bread and ingredients were fresh. The sandwich was delicious, I just wish it was a little bit bigger because I didn't want to stop eating it. The sweet potato fries were about like every other places sweet potato fries, good. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. The dining area was very open and surprisingly large. We took the whole family and felt very comfortable there. The kids menu had good variety, and was reasonably priced.

I had the Cajun Turkey melt with sweet potato fries for lunch... it was delicious. Also, I saw that this place was given the "best pizza in in Louisiana award" per Food Network magazine in 2011. My friend had the lasagna, and he said that he gives the dish an 8.5 rating on an 1 to 10 scale. He is somewhat of a lasagna connoisseur. The place was clean and the people were nice, not overly nice like they were trying too hard. I recommend this place; if you are in Bossier, LA. definitely hit this place up.

Went here for lunch. Had an eggplant parmigiana panini and sweet potato fries. $8.00 total. Service was super fast, courteous and the food was so good! Plus they give military discounts . It wasn't too pricey either. Will definitely go back here SOON!

Great place! As of Jan 2015, this place is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, closed Sundays. They offer a 20% off military discount on Monday nights as well. I had their turkey melt on jalapeño bread with a side of their crab and corn bisque- absolutely delicious! Hubby had their Cobb salad and brisket sandwich. The Cobb was a large lunch portion- try their home made ranch dressing. Our favorite was definitely the turkey melt sandwich. Definitely coming back- what a great place!

I had the Ruben panini and it was very good just don't believe it's worth $9. My husband got the meatball po'boy which he said was good too but again not $9 good. We each had a slice of the pizzaletta $5.99 each. My husband liked it. But an overload of olives for me personally. For us two and costing $39.00, pretty expensive. We liked the set up of the eating area. And our waitress was on the ball. Good food just a bit expensive.

Absolutely amazing! We were looking for a small family establishment with homemade fresh food and we've found it. Ordered the sausage poboy, bread was so fresh and soft, Italian sausage was delicious. Will definitely be returning!

The meatball poboy is excellent, but the vegetarian options also look pretty good. I had the regular fries and loved them; they remind me of Smashburger's Smash Fries, but without grease dripping off of them. Definitely give this one a try at lunch.

I was starving. It was a nasty, rainy, cold Thursday at noon and I was in a city I was not familiar with. I took to yelp to look for something quick and comforting. I most definitely wasn't looking for Haute Cuisine but rather rainy day type food. I saw that Cascio's was a few minutes from where I was staying and quickly made my way there. I stood in a quickly moving line and when I got to the counter I ordered a meatball po boy with a side of fries to go. The gentleman at the front was extremely friendly. He asked me to take a seat and said he'd call out to me when my lunch was ready. About 10 minutes later, I had a paper bag in my hot little hands and I was en route to my room. It took my a little while to figure out how to get back, and that led to a bit of worry about my fries because they were packaged in Styrofoam (the enemy of hot crispy things). I was so excited about the intoxicating smells emanating from my passenger seat that I opted just eat my lunch in the lobby breakfast area. This was a wise decision. The sandwich was a meatball sandwich defined. It was 5 or 6 whole meatballs on crusty po boy bread with red sauce and a healthy amount of provolone. The meatballs had the flavor of being slow cooked in the sauce. The sauce was bright from good tomatoes and aromatic with a bit of garlic, basil and oregano. This isn't really a frou-frou sauce, just a solid textbook red. The bread was just right to hold up to the moisture. Half of the time, a sandwich of this type falls apart, but not this one. It was recognizably sandwich-like right until the end. I really enjoyed that they didn't skimp on the cheese. It had 4-5 slices of yummy, melt-y provolone. Now on to the fries, I was really concerned about these. I knew that they couldn't possibly be good after sitting in the container for a while. I was proven wrong. The fries are of the tiny, skinny shoestring variety. Not everybody likes them. They are a personal favorite. They were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. I didn't notice any discernible lack of quality from the box. That was really impressive. I was so pleased with my take out from Cascio's that I visited for again lunch the very next day. I came with a friend who ordered a club sandwich with some avocado and sweet potato fries. He seemed pretty happy. I ordered a bowl of the crab and corn bisque. It was delicious and a huge portion. I had to share with my dining companion because it felt like a terrible shame to let it go to waste. The bisque was really creamy and rich. It was full of crab meat and fresh tasting corn. I do have one minor complaint: the soup seemed have several tiny crab shell pieces that you don't notice until you bite down on or swallow one. Our server was friendly if a bit scattered and distracted.

What an amazing and busy place. There was not a table in sight today for lunch. We tried the muffeletta and garden salad with balsamic. I love a good muffeletta and have not found one this tasty since my last trip to NOLA. Coming all the way from Cali, I was wishing and hoping I would find one in Shreveport! The salad was fresh with a side of creamy balsamic dressing. So many other options I would have loved to try. It's like a little mom and pop Italian restaurant mixed with Cajun charm!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
